The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warning consumers to not buy or use GC Natural's Pyrola Advanced Joint Formula, an herbal supplement marketed for joint pain.

A laboratory analysis confirmed that Pyrola contained diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and chlorpheniramine, an over-the-counter (OTC) antihistamine. NSAIDs may increase the risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke, as well as serious gastrointestinal damage (eg, bleeding, ulceration, and fatal perforation of the stomach and intestines).

Diclofenac may also interact with other drugs and significantly increase the risk of adverse events, especially in consumers taking multiple NSAID-containing products. Antihistamines may cause drowsiness and affect mental alertness.

Pyrola Advanced Joint Formula is sold on various websites, including, and also in some retail stores.
