Officials with Mylan announced the launch of Fentanyl Transdermal System 37.5mcg/hr, 62.5mcg/hr, and 87.5mcg/hr, three new intermediate dosage strengths.
Fentanyl is an opioid indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe chronic pain that requires continuous, around-the-clock opioid analgesia for an extended period of time and cannot be managed by lesser means (eg, NSAIDs, opioid combination products, or immediate-release opioids). It is intended for use in opioid-tolerant patients only.
Fentanyl Transdermal System is already available in 12mcg/hr, 25mcg/hr, 50mcg/hr, 75mcg/hr, and 100mcg/hr strengths.
