The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized an extension to the shelf life of the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine from 3 months to 4.5 months.
The extension was based on data from ongoing stability assessment studies that demonstrated the single-dose vaccine remained stable at 4.5 months when refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). The Company will provide updated expiration dates on www.vaxcheck.jnj. Vaccine providers can confirm the latest expiration dates, including those currently available in the US, on www.vaxcheck.jnj.
The Janssen COVID-19 vaccine is currently authorized under the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization for active immunization to prevent COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 in individuals 18 years of age and older.
