Open to both individual and corporate donations, the grant is awarded biannually in odd-numbered years. The deadline for 2015 applications has already passed. The next submission deadline for the Chronic Pain Medicine Research Grant will be in August 2017.

The ASRA’s chronic pain research priorities include:

  • development of novel measurement tools for chronic pain;
  • identification of novel applications of existing therapeutics in humans;
  • investigation of emerging interventions and novel drugs in humans;
  • development of innovative clinical application of emerging electronic technology as it applies to chronic pain;
  • development of clinical outcome studies to validate existing treatment strategies.

“We are delighted to be the recipients of these three awards as they illustrate the projection and trust that ASRA has among industry involved in therapies for pain management,” said ASRA President Oscar de Leon-Casasola, MD, in a statement. “The ASRA Board will make sure that these monies are invested in projects that will have outcome implications for the many patients who suffer pain in the world so that our members and their patients may benefit from the information derived from these future studies.”
